General. The Humane Society of Chilton County is a stand alone non-profit 501(c)(3) organization governed by elected Board Members. The hours of operation are designed to ensure that all animals are properly and humanely cared for and that the public has adequate and ample opportunity to conduct business at the Humane Society of Chilton County (hereafter, “HSCC”).

Telephone. The telephone number is (205) 755-9170. When no one is available to take incoming calls, calls are serviced by a voicemail, and messages are regularly retrieved.
Hours of Operation. HSCC is open during the following hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (no intakes after 2 p.m.) and closed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday; opened the first and third Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (no intakes after 1 p.m.).
Holidays include: New Years’ Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on Thursday, it will be observed on the following Friday. The HSCC may close on other days as necessary.
Services.
The HSCC offers adoption services onsite, through Pet Finder online, at Pet Smart located in Prattville, Alabama, and during adoption events throughout the year.
Low costs spay and neuter services are offered which greatly helps low income individuals and reduces the amount of unwanted animals in our area.
Cremation services is offered to the public at a low cost.
Pet surrendering is offered free to county residents and at a low cost to out-of-county residents, as well as alternative choices counseling to pet surrenders.
Doggy Day Out is offered for Senior Therapy, for those wishing to adopt and wanting to see how the animal fits with their family, and just for those wanting to make a difference in the life of our pets.
Walk and Wag is offered for Senior Therapy and volunteers to walk our pets and help them train to leashes and get fresh air!
For our adopted pets, we offer a month’s free of pet insurance, all vaccines and de-wormer, microchip, a free vet visit, spay/neuter, and rabies shot.
The HSCC works with: animal rescue coordinators to find loving homes for all pets; local Humane Societies to help when they are in need; Alabama Relay Rescue, Pilots for Paws, and volunteer pilots and individuals to transport animals to rescue; Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic to provide low cost spay and neuter services; Nationwide animal rescues to which we send our pets.
The HSCC provides Courtesy Posts of lost and found animals for anyone who messages the shelter with information.
Finally, the HSCC works with wildlife rescue groups on domestic animals, such as chickens, donkeys, horses, and wild animals (i.e. deer fawn) to place them in rehabilitation/adoption potential care.
