On November 21, 2018 we went to the Humane Society of Chilton County and picked up our foster, Georgie. She needed a 2 week foster before her freedom ride to Save A Life Pet Rescue in Florida. She was perfection from the moment we brought her home until the moment she had to leave us.
I could not have asked her to be a better girl!
Yes, there were accidents. Poops and pees.
Yes, she had very sharp puppy teeth and she was teething.
But, oh how she loved…and she learned so fast.
Within days she learned how to use the doggy door to go out and pee, but she had the occasional accident. I was proud of her.
She had no problem being crated for the night…she didn’t cry or even soil her puppy pad.
She didn’t chase our cats.
She didn’t mess with our grumpy beagle.
She took the best naps and began learning her name.
She became best friends with my daughter and 1 1/2 year old Basset mix. We all absolutely loved her, except maybe the grumpy beagle and she was so good that he tolerated her.
It was hard to take her to the van that would carry her to her new life. It was so difficult to walk away not knowing if she would ever be loved the way that we loved her…but we had our 2 dogs and our grumpy Beagle was old and tired so we knew it was for the best that Georgie find her perfect home and we knew that we were just a part of her journey.
She went on to rescue and I was updated that in no time she was adopted. It was such amazing news.
She deserved the very best life and we are so blessed to be a part of her journey
